Woman Shot and Killed While Walking on Street in Camden, New Jersey

Camden County Gun Crime LawyersCamden County law enforcement is looking into a recent shooting on a Camden New Jersey street that left one person dead and another person with serious injuries.

The shooting went down around 8:45 p.m. According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, the two female victims were walking on South 6th Street in Camden NJ when they were approached by someone. The individual who moved toward the women was brandishing a handgun and used it to fire multiple gunshots in their direction.

The Camden County Police Department was notified of the shooting by a ShotSpotter activation, which alerted law enforcement to gunshots being fired in the area. Police officers were subsequently dispatched to the scene, where they found the two victims lying on the pavement and suffering from gunshot wounds.

Tragically, one of the victims, a 21-year-old woman from Camden, was pronounced dead shortly after Camden NJ cops arrived at the scene.

The other victim, an 18-year-old woman, was briefly treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby medical facility so that doctors could provide her with medical treatment for her gunshot-related injuries. She was later listed in stable condition.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Camden County Police Department, are working together on the investigation into the shooting incident.

If Camden County authorities can eventually determine the identity of the person who fired the gunshots in this shooting incident, that person would likely be charged with a number of gun crimes, including murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault.
