Newark NJ Police Arrest Dozens, Seize Handguns in Drug Raids

Newark NJ Handgun Possession Lawyers Newark New Jersey police recently arrested 41 people while executing drug raids throughout the city. A few of the individuals placed under arrest were charged with criminal weapons offenses.

Newark NJ law enforcement started their investigation after receiving numerous tips about illegal drug trafficking in Newark. Police eventually got search warrants and executed the warrants at three city locations: the intersection of Pennington Street and Broad Street, the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Fairmount Avenue, and the intersection of Bright Court and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

During the drug raids, Newark cops reportedly seized 194 decks of heroin, 216 vials of cocaine, and 118 bags of marijuana. According to authorities, the total street value of the illegal drugs exceeds $5,500.

Newark detectives also allegedly seized three handguns during the drug busts. As a result, three Newark NJ suspects were charged with gun crimes for unlawful possession of a weapon, illegal possession of a handgun, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
